About us

Hotel Gloria is a family love story which started back in 1960 when Fritz & Caroline Oehrli bought a chalet named Gloria, it had a holiday home at the top and a small tearoom & shop below. 

In 1980 Chalet Gloria was totally transformed into a modern 14 room hotel & restaurant.

The rest we could say is history …….

On the other side of the world, Australian city girl Jacky met 5 Star Swiss chef Bernhard Oehrli in the wine-ridden Adelaide hills, South Australia.
In 2007 we left Australia together to travel to Beatenberg Switzerland to take over and breathe new life into the much-loved hotel.

Together we have created our Hotel Gloria where the little things are the big things.

A combination of genuine heartfelt hospitality from our team, fresh innovative cuisine and our love of detail and creativity continues to excite us every day. Gloria is now home to travellers from all four corners of the world who are drawn to our piece of paradise where they are never just a name and room number.
